In March, Major League Soccer welcomed the Montreal Impact as the 19th franchise in its league. MLS is the most prestigious soccer league in North America. The Portland Timbers made a splash in the international transfer market last January by adding to its ranks Scottish forward Kris Boyd, the most prolific goal scorer in Scottish League History. The Montreal Impact recently brought in two former Italian National Team players in defender Matteo Ferrari and forward Bernardo Corradi. Players with MLS experience like captain Davy Arnaud, goalkeeper Donovan Ricketts and midfielder Justin Mapp also wear the Impact jersey. In 2012, the Impact also brought home one of its local boys in Patrice Bernier. Spectators can leave their vehicles in one of the Olympic Stadium’s six underground parking garages or commute by subway.
