With the help of BOATsmart!, accredited by Transport Canada, power boat operators receive a seven-modules online study guide and complete quizzes before they tackle the final exam to attain their Pleasure Craft Operator Card. The online study guide is included, as well as the final exam and free exam retries if required. The online study guide presents all of the knowledge necessary to pass the final exam, as well as practice quizzes and questions.

After completing the online study guide, powerboat operators can move on to the 50-question final exam and answer at least 38 questions correctly to receive the Pleasure Craft Operator Card, commonly known as a boating license. Boaters can immediately print a temporary Pleasure Craft Operator Card that is valid for life in Canada and the US. Power boat operators caught without proof of competency such as the Pleasure Craft Operator Card face a minimum $250 fine in Canada. Accredited by Transport Canada.
